Weigh In Day/Food Journal 9/25 {updated}

Today's Wednesday, my official weigh in and I am pleased. This week, I've lost 1.5 pounds, making my total weight loss an even ten pounds! Thank you, Lord!

Confession: I had no supper last night! I know it isn't good to skip meals, but our church is in Revival this week and I got busy and didn't have time to eat before church (I get home at 6:00 and left at 7:00) and by the time we got home (9:45), I just felt it was too late to eat. So, truth be told, I don't know if the magic number 10 is accurate, but that's what it was this morning, so I'm going to count it!

I'm treating myself to Chick-fil-@ today to celebrate and to kind of "mix it up" as to what goes into my body. They say one of the worst things we can do is to get into a rut of what we eat. It we change it around, it keeps from messing up our metabolism. (I am no expert, obviously, but that's what I've heard/read.) {Update: I went to the mall and had a 3 cheese veggie wrap instead - lots of cheese, not good, but still a treat since I didn't prepare it. In reviewing my food journals, I definitely needed some veggies and this is a sandwich I actually like, so kind of in-between treat and healthy.}

I am choosing to reward myself for every 5 pounds lost. The number on the scale ended with a 2, so I technically didn't reward myself this time until I lost 7. (I'm a numbers person, I like for the number to end in 5 or 0.)

(Have you noticed how many times I'm using (parenthesis) in the post?) (Gee Whiz!)

Anyway, so I am now "entitled" to a pedicure. Two more pounds and I am getting a new Georg!a Tech purse. I have several, but a new one has come out and I, of course, want it very badly! But, I am waiting until I earn it.

Food Journal:
bfast-Sl!mfast Bar
lunch-grilled chicken, whole grain rice
snack-fiber bar
snack- 1 cup (1/2 cup whole grain, 1/2 cup honey nut cheeri0s) cereal w/skim milk
dinner - none, but not a habit

lots of water, but less than usual - somewhere around 50 oz - and did a WATP dvd, 1 mile.

Yay for a great loss! Both this week and overall. It can be such a huge boost to your motivation to reach a number like 10 lbs. And yes, a treat or splurge now and then can be a good thing, particularly when you get stuck on a plateau. It can help fire up your metabolism, kind of like throwing trash on a fire can cause it to flare up.

Keep up the good work!

Congrats on your 10lb mark! Sounds like you are making great choices. And some cheese is really good for you. The calcium is actually helpful for weight loss.

And yeah, that 5 and 0 things sounds just a little OCD to me. ;-)

Great job this week! At WW meetings, our leader repeatedly reminds us not to get stuck in a rut by eating the same thing day after day. As you said, we do need to mix it up a bit when it comes to what we eat.(of course I'm one to talk since I've been known to eat Rice Krispies for breakfast AND dinner three days a week) (I think I caught your parenthesis bug)(sorry!)(Shoot! Now I can't stop it!)

Congrats on your loss and have a great week this week!
